Explore Cle Elum With Good Wine
Located in the heart of downtown Cle Elum, the Upsidedown Wine tasting room is your basecamp for Washington’s most intentional viticulture. We’ve traded the traditional vineyard “cellar” for a modern, laid-back space designed for those who live for the outdoors but appreciate the technical beauty of low-intervention winemaking.

The “Minimalist” Flight
A rotating selection of our newest releases. Explore the range of Washington’s terroir through Seth Kitzke’s lens – focusing on purity, acidity, and elegance.
The “Rescue” Series
Sip on our Rhône-inspired blends. These are the fan-favorites – approachable, complex, and driven by a mission to give back with every bottle sold.
Tasting Room Hours: Mon & Tues: 1:30pm – 7:30pm / Wed: 3:30pm – 7:30pm / Thurs: 1:30pm – 7:30pm / Fri & Sat: 12pm – 8pm / Sun: 12pm – 6pm
What’s Around Us?
Owens Meats: You cannot leave Cle Elum without stopping at Owen’s Meats, known as “The Candy Store for the Carnivore.” Grab some jerky or estate-quality steaks to take home—they are the perfect companion for any leftover bottles of Upsidedown Wine. Explore Washington Article: History of Owens Meats
Stella’s or 509 Bakery: Grab an overstuffed sandwich at Stella’s or a fresh pastry from 509 Bakery (conveniently located right next to the tasting room)
The Brick Saloon: Washington’s oldest continuously operating bar. Located just a short drive from the Upsidedown Wine tasting room, it offers a legendary atmosphere that perfectly balances the town’s coal-mining history with its modern mountain-town energy.
The Orchard Restaurant: A local favorite for a high-end date night. Their farm-to-table menu and 20-day dry-aged steaks pair beautifully with a bottle of Upsidedown GSM.
The Coal Mines Trail: This is a gentle, flat 4.7-mile trail that connects Cle Elum to the historic town of Roslyn. It’s perfect for a morning walk or bike ride through the trees, passing remnants of the area’s industrial mining past. Washington Trails Association Trail Guide
Suncadia Resort & Golf Course: We are located less than 4 miles from the Suncadia Golf Shops. Skip the clubhouse crowds and head into town for a flight of Upsidedown Wine.
Prospector Golf Course:
Designed by Arnold Palmer The “crown jewel” of Suncadia, Prospector is a classic mountain course defined by its towering evergreen corridors and dramatic elevation changes. It’s a stunning 7,100-yard challenge that rewards accuracy over raw power – perfect for the golfer who appreciates a technical game before a technical glass of wine.
Rope Rider Golf Course
Named after the coal miners who once worked this land, Rope Rider is built on the site of historic mines and features Tipple Hill – a 120-foot hill of coal tailings. It is famously family-friendly, with youth tees on every hole, making it the ideal spot for a group outing.
Sun Country Golf Course: Located just five miles west of Cle Elum, Sun Country is a 18-hole par 71 course that perfectly captures the “mountain golf” aesthetic. While the resort courses focus on grandeur, Sun Country focuses on character and fun. The Hidden Gem of the Upper County! Grab a bottle of our Method Red or a crisp Rosé to keep in your rental for a sunset toast on the deck after a long day on the links.
